A Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says He Had To Sell His Plasma Hundreds Of Times To Afford a Cybertruck – He Adds, “Now My Dad Wants To Get Rid Of His Chevy Silverado 1500 and Get a Cybertruck.”

A Cybertruck owner says it took him seven years and hundreds of plasma donations to afford a Cybertruck. He says his dad is now a Tesla fan for life and wants to sell his Chevy Silverado 1500 and replace it with a Cybertruck.

Cayden, a Cybertruck owner from Oregon, says he took difficult steps, such as selling his plasma hundreds of times, to improve his finances to the point where he can now afford a Cybertruck.

He says he fell in love with the Cybertruck as soon as it was unveiled back in 2019, but his financial situation meant he couldn’t afford it when deliveries began in late 2023.

Cayden says he sold plasma hundreds of times,

Meanwhile, Cayden says he sold plasma hundreds of times, among other measures to improve his financial situation.

He explains that this wasn’t just to buy the Cybertruck; he was also trying to improve his overall financial situation, including paying off student loans, moving to a new state, and having a child.

Still, he says the cherry on top of everything he did to improve his finances was the $59,990 Cybertruck he ordered in February 2026 and took delivery of months later.

Cayden is extremely happy with his Cybertruck

Cayden is extremely happy with his Cybertruck and shared his experience on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum.

“The Cybertruck was my dream rig since I saw it on stage in 2019. I’m one of those people who had Cybertruck posters in the room, a phone and desktop screensaver, watched all the YouTube videos, and always looked for them once they hit the road.

I thought about the Cybertruck every day and dreamed of finally owning one. I especially need a truck because I am an avid motocross rider and have a family.

I was disheartened by the initial price, which

I was disheartened by the initial price, which was a barrier to ownership until the $59K Cybertruck was available for a short time.

When the $59K Cybertruck hit the Tesla website, I thought it was either an error or a massively stripped-down truck. Thankfully, neither was true.

After confirming what the $59K truck actually was, I placed an order on the 2nd day of the 10-Day Special offer in February, and I’m so glad I did.

I kept checking the app multiple times

I kept checking the app multiple times a day while also browsing this forum and Reddit to get a sense of when I could pick up my dream ride.

My ETA kept getting pushed back, but one afternoon I received a call from my local Tesla service center.

They said the first person who ordered the truck in our area was out of the country and unresponsive, and that I was next in the order queue.

They offered me the truck, and I immediately

They offered me the truck, and I immediately took it and picked it up a couple of days later.

It was definitely one of the best days of my life, and I will never forget it. Especially after waiting 7 years and all the hard work and sacrifice we had endured in that time.

This included anxiety/depression, my wife’s initial visa being rejected, getting her to the States, going to school in another state, side hustles, donating plasma hundreds of times, paying off my student loans, working 6 years for a company/position that I hated, getting laid off, moving 3 times, having a child, and putting him through daycare.

All the trials and tribulations made it all

All the trials and tribulations made it all the sweeter. 4 months and 10,000 miles later, I still can’t believe it’s mine.”

Cayden says that after all the challenges he went through to improve his financial situation, he believes the Cybertruck is the sweetest reward.

Cayden adds that since getting his Cybertruck, he’s become something of a Tesla ambassador. Many people in his life who have experienced the Cybertruck are switching to Tesla vehicles.

First, his coworker bought a Model Y

First, his coworker bought a Model Y for his wife because of him, and now his father, who drives a Chevy Silverado 1500, wants to replace his internal combustion truck with a Cybertruck.

“One of my coworkers was so impressed by Tesla and the tech that he bought a Tesla Model Y for his wife, their first EV. And they weren’t even considering an EV.

Now my father, who is as old-school as they come and was very skeptical of electric vehicles, is now a ‘Tesla fan for life’ and wants to get rid of his Chevy Silverado 1500 for a Cybertruck.

He always asks to drive my Cybertruck

He always asks to drive my Cybertruck and when I can help him get one (currently working on that).

Also, my mother is considering getting rid of her Porsche Macan GTS for a Tesla Model Y Performance.

Cayden says he had to take difficult measures, such as selling plasma, to improve his financial situation and afford a Cybertruck, and now the people in his life are also Tesla enthusiasts.
