3 Big SUV Launches In 3 Days In December

2026 has been a great year for car manufacturers in India. We have witnessed the launch of many new models and updates to existing models in the market. As we move towards the end of the year, more launches are lined up. With the rising demand for SUVs, brands are focusing more on this segment. Here we have a list of three new SUVs that are expected to launch or debut in December this year.

One of the most anticipated SUV launches this year would be the next-generation Fortuner. According to recent reports, the global debut of the next-generation Fortuner will take place on 1st December 2026. Near-production-ready versions of the Fortuner have been spotted testing abroad.

The SUV will be based on the updated IMV ladder-frame platform. It looks slightly bigger than the current version. It will come with a sharper front fascia featuring redesigned LED headlamps, a new grille and a revised bumper. The tail-lights and rear section of the SUV are also expected to receive multiple changes. The front end may look similar to that of the recently launched Hilux pickup truck. Inside, the cabin is likely to get a more premium layout with several new features. The vehicle is expected to continue with 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel mild-hybrid engine options. A 4×4 system will continue to be offered on select diesel variants.

The Honda 0 Alpha is expected to be offered with two LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack options, likely ranging between 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The SUV is expected to deliver a real-world driving range of around 450–500 km on a full charge.

JSW will also be entering the Indian market

JSW will also be entering the Indian market as an independent car brand this year. The company has partnered with Chinese brand Chery for this venture. The official launch of the brand is scheduled to happen on 3-4 December.

The first SUV to emerge from this partnership is expected to be the Jetour T2. The Indian version of the SUV is likely to be called the Combat. The SUV has been spotted on Indian roads multiple times. It is a boxy-looking premium SUV that is already on sale in several international markets.

The Jetour T2 features a design inspired by rugged SUVs such as the Land Rover Defender. It is expected to be launched in India as a plug-in hybrid SUV, powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. As a plug-in hybrid, it will also feature an electric motor and a large battery pack, which is likely to offer an electric driving range of around 100 km.
