As an avid science fiction and fantasy reader, I grew up with book series of all types. Some of them span decades, like Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter Chronicles. Others are slightly shorter, like Sarah Hashem’s The Scorched Throne duology. Over the years, I remember the thrill of waiting for the next installment of my favorite series, and then when that thrill faded because the wait never ends (looking at you, Patrick Rothfuss).
