Moultrie is making the EDGE 3 and EDGE 3 PRO available first light specter Camo, and the timing makes sense heading into the summer scouting season. The Specter is designed to blend into the mixed hardwood and brushy terrain that covers most of the whitetail range, which is exactly where most of these cameras are going to spend the next several months.
camera Themselves have not changed. The First Lite edition includes patterns and a free three-month OnX Hunt Elite membership for new customers, which combined with the camera’s existing OnX Hunt app integration creates a functional scouting package out of the box. The cameras send images directly to the Moultrie app on the strongest available carrier signal from major US networks, which is automatically selected without configuration.
AI deer detection is a feature worth spending time on. When a deer steps into frame the camera automatically switches from photo to HD video and sends the footage instantly to the app. If you’ve ever spent twenty minutes swiping through hundreds of deer photos looking for the one shooter that came out at 2 a.m. at midnight, that automatic switch is really a worthwhile time saver.
The EDGE 3 at First Light delivers 40MP images, 1080p video, a 100-foot detection range, and a 0.4-second trigger speed. The EDGE 3 PRO ups the ante: 50MP images, 1440 QHD video, no glow flash, 0.3-second trigger, and Easy Aim Mount included in the box for fast precise hanging. No SD card required on any model.
