Suzuki has announced 2027 hayabusaAnd the highlight is a new special edition priced at $20,399. That’s $700 more than the regular Hayabusa, whose price starts at $19,699. What does extra money buy you? More Horsepower? Fancy suspension? carbon fiber? A secret turbocharger hidden beneath the fairings?
No, no, no more.
You get paint, badges, a seat cowl, and the purest possible expression of Suzuki’s ancient and sacred art: “Bold New Graphics.”
To be honest, this is not a bad looking motorcycle. The special edition combines Pearl Brilliant White and Metallic Oort Gray with red accents, black exhaust end caps, unique badging and an embossed Suzuki emblem on the fuel tank. It comes with a color-matched solo seat cowl, which makes the Hayabusa a little more committed to speed and a little less interested in taking your friend home after making a poor transportation decision.

However, mechanically, underneath it is the same Hayabusa. You still get Suzuki’s 1,340 cc inline-four, identical chassis, Brembo Stylema front brake callipers and the full Suzuki Intelligent Ride System electronics package. It includes selectable riding modes, traction control, launch control, engine brake control, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, and enough configurable settings to keep you engaged while pretending you’ve read the owner’s manual in its entirety.
There’s nothing wrong with that, as the current Hayabusa is already an extremely capable motorcycle. It’s fast enough to rearrange your sense of distance, comfortable enough for actual road use, and so aerodynamic that it looks as if it was designed inside a wind tunnel by people who haven’t seen the light of day in months. Suzuki didn’t need to tinker with the mechanical package to keep the bike relevant for the second model year.
But calling it a special edition is doing some heavy lifting.
There’s no added performance, no mild exhaust, no suspension upgrades, and no special engine tuning. This is the same famous hyperbike wearing premium livery and asking an extra $700 at checkout. Suzuki has created the Hayabusa equivalent of effectively ordering the same meal, adding fancy plating, and receiving a bill that now includes the word “Artisan.”
The regular 2027 Hayabusa is available in glass sparkle black or metallic reflective blue, while the special edition gets a special white, gray and red color treatment. Buyers who like the color scheme probably won’t care that the upgrades are cosmetic, and that’s absolutely fine. Just don’t expect the special paint to make the bike go faster. The bold new graphics remain powerful, but Suzuki still hasn’t figured out how to measure them in horsepower.
