XS Sights Releases Tritium Front Sight for the Ruger SP101 and LCR

xs sights Fixed Rear for Ruger SP101 and Tritium Standard Dot Front Sight in .38/.357 for Ruger LCR, and the main feature is that it comes pre-drilled. No mill work, no drill press, no gunsmith needed. The pinhole is already in place, and the kit comes with everything you need to make the swap yourself: front sight, roll pin, color-appropriate threadlocker, and instructions. This removes the biggest friction point for most revolver owners who want to upgrade their sights but don’t want to send the gun out for work.

The sight itself is a 0.140-inch tritium dot available in green, orange, or white. The green and orange versions use the XS’s photoluminescent glow dot material, which absorbs ambient light and glows in low light conditions independent of the tritium element. Tritium lamp handles complete darkness. The white option is reflective rather than photoluminescent, making it easier to pick up in bright conditions without a glowing element. All three are CNC machined from solid steel bar stock in XS’s in-house shop in Fort Worth.

  • Scene: Tritium front with photoluminescent glow dot surround

The pre-drill format is the practical differentiator here. Traditional pinned front sights require drilling, putting most installations out of reach of home gunsmiths without the correct equipment. XS’s approach extends that install to anyone who can work carefully at a bench with basic tools. SP101 and LCR Both are popular carry revolvers and neither have a great factory front sight for low light use out of the box.

Are you running a factory front sight on your carry revolver, and is a DIY tritium upgrade something you can tackle yourself? Let us know in the comments below. We always appreciate feedback.
