What’s new for BMW Motorrad in 2027? New colours, upgraded equipment and updates across the range

BMW Motorrad has unveiled updates to its 2027 model year, introducing new colors, revised equipment packages and additional factory options across most of its motorcycle range. The changes include everything from the M Performance family to naked, touring and adventure models, with the updated motorcycles becoming available to order from August 2026.

Instead of launching all-new models, BMW has focused on refining its existing lineup through better equipment, advanced customization and revised specifications.

M family gets the biggest upgrade

The BMW M 1000 RR headlines the update with the third-generation M Motorsport frame now fitted as standard.

According to BMW Motorrad, the redesigned chassis improves flexibility, reduces weight by approximately 1.3 kilograms and the walls are approximately 30% thinner, providing better stiffness characteristics and more grip under high-performance riding.

The superbike also adopts M forged wheels as standard equipment, while M carbon wheels become an optional option.

The new M Track Package and M Track Package II options replace the previous M Competition Package, adding carbon components, billet accessories and an M Endurance chain.

The BMW M 1000 R and BMW M 1000 XR also get these new optional packages.

The BMW S 1000 RR gets a facelift

The BMW S 1000 RR features a revised M Sport color scheme combining Blackstorm Metallic with M Motorsport graphics.

The model also gets M Forged Wheels within the M package, while USB charging becomes part of selected equipment packages.

The previous Sport Bluestone Metallic finish has been discontinued.

Updates for the F 900 and R 1300 ranges

Both the BMW F 900 XR and BMW F 900 R get revised comfort packages that now include the M Endurance Chain.

Within the Boxer lineup, the BMW R 1300 R adds factory luggage mounts and a new Touring Package that includes case holders, central locking, and a center stand.

The BMW R 1300 RS also gets a factory luggage mount for the Style Performance edition.

Fresh colors for the K 1600 family and R 12 G/S

BMW has refreshed the Style Edition II color options across the K 1600 GT, GTL, Bagger and Grand America ranges with the introduction of Imperial Blue Metallic.

Meanwhile, the BMW R 12 G/S has replaced the previous Sandrover Uni Matte finish with a new Frozen Brooklyn Gray Metallic for the Option 719 model.

Continuous refinement instead of radical change

While the 2027 updates do not introduce major mechanical redesigns across the entire range, they reinforce BMW Motorrad’s strategy of continually improving its motorcycles through improved equipment, expanded factory options and advanced customisation.

M Performance models benefit the most, while touring and road-focused motorcycles receive practical upgrades aimed at improving ownership and everyday usability.

decision

BMW Motorrad’s 2027 model updates focus on refinement rather than reinvention. The new M 1000 RR stands out with significant chassis improvements, while the rest of the range benefits from additional equipment, refreshed styling and expanded customization options that will help BMW’s motorcycles keep up.
