Guide Gear Oversized Camping Chair, $60 (was $120)
Why is this a good deal?
Walmart’s Summer Deals program has ended, but not all the discounts have disappeared yet. There’s a lot of camping gear, for example, that is still listed at or near the prices displayed during big sales. Guide Gear’s Glamping chair, a large, plush, throne-esque folding camp chair, is one of them, and at the moment it’s still half off.
The Guide Gear Oversized Camping Chair is on sale for $60-$60 off the original $120 price tag. This item has over 250 five-star ratings at Walmart, and it comes in three colors, with the red one having the highest discount. Yes, it costs more than the $10 Ozark Trail chairs made by Walmart, but there’s a reason buyers are willing to spend so much on it – comfort.

Pros
- It weighs up to 400 pounds, which is more than most camping chairs
- Comes with a cup holder and a convenient carry bag
- It has a lot more padding than the average camp chair
- Constructed with a strong steel frame
- wide seat
Shortcoming
- Heavier than basic camping chairs
Walmart isn’t as famous for its outdoor gear as REI, which specializes in camping, hiking, and other activities. However, this Walmart camping chair is a solid option that would be right at home in REI’s inventory. It can hold up to an impressive 400 pounds – much more than we’re used to seeing from these types of chairs and 100 pounds more than some of the bestselling camping chairs sold at REI: the REI Co-op Flexlite Camp Boss Chair and the ALPS Mountaineering Getaway Chair.
This REI Co-op chair weighs 10 pounds less than the 12-pound Guide Gear style, but that won’t matter to campers unless they’re backpacking or hiking to a campsite. Additionally, the guide gear model is “oversized” because it incorporates more padding into its design. The extra padding that provides comfort is what sets this Walmart chair apart, and while the ALPS Mountaineering Getaway Chair has a similar construction with the same cup holder placement, it doesn’t have the extra cushion that will comfort your back after a long day outside.

what shoppers are saying
Like most of the best camping chairs, it’s foldable and portable, but it far exceeds expectations in the comfort category. One shopper said, “Sturdy, as comfortable as a soft pillow, very easy to get in and out.”
Another reviewer agreed, mentioning how this chair is suitable for all types of occasions. “My master chair for ballgames, fishing, camping, etc.,” he said. “Oversize and comfortable. For the first time, I can stand without a chair.”
The Guide Gear Oversized Camping Chair is half the price at Walmart. Add this bestseller to your cart as soon as possible before leaving for the campsite.
