TNA Wrestling highlights veteran talent in surprise move

In a surprising development, TNA Wrestling has parted ways with another notable wrestler.

Tommy Dreamer, who was in his third stint with TNA Wrestling, announced that he had parted ways with the promotion. Dreamer returned to the company for a third stint in 2018, working as a producer and member of the creative team.

Dreamer announced this during an appearance open radio busted (h/t fightful.com):

Dreamer said, “All relationships are over. I had a very good conversation with (TNA President) Carlos Silva. TNA and I are no longer in a relationship.” “We have agreed to part ways by mutual consent. It’s difficult. I’ve given so much of my life to that company.”

“I don’t hold any grudges or grudges. I wanted to survive and be the best. It was a 24-hour job and I had it for ten years. Everything comes to an end. I know I’ll be okay. I hope TNA is okay. There’s no problems or grudges. At this point, we just need to take a break.”

Yesterday, TNA cut ties with former World Champion Tessa Blanchard after she requested her release. This came a week after the company released Myla Grace and another former world champion, Steve Macklin.

Dreamer’s first TNA stint lasted one year from 2010 to 2011. He returned to the promotion for two more years in 2013, making sporadic appearances for WWE along the way.

His third stint with TNA began in 2018. Dreamer defeated Kenny King in a singles match at Victory Road 2023 to win the now-defunct TNA Digital Media Championship. This would be Dreamer’s only championship in TNA.

Dreamer was instrumental in putting the ECW promotion on the map in the late 90s and early 2000s. He won the ECW World Heavyweight Championship twice and the Hardcore Championship 14 times, the sixth-most titles in history.

Having turned 55 in February, it’s anyone’s guess whether Dreamer will ever wear wrestling shoes again. But his career track record and resume should make him attractive to other backstage promotions.
