The LA Auto Show Has 24 Brands This Year, and These Are the Hybrids, Trucks and 3-Row SUVs Worth Comparing Side by Side

The 2026 Los Angeles Auto Show runs Nov. 20 to 29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with 24 automotive brands and test drives and ride experiences from 16 of them, all included with admission. Highlights include the all-electric Rivian R2, the all-new all-electric 2028 Toyota Highlander, the first-ever Kia Telluride Hybrid, the next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado with new V8 engines and Nissan’s first U.S. e-POWER hybrid in the 2027 Rogue. If you are wondering which LA Auto Show 2026 vehicles are worth your time, here is every brand highlight grouped by what you are shopping for, along with the brands that let you drive before you decide.

Why This Year’s Show Matters for Shoppers

The show’s organizers say this year’s lineup reflects a market moving in several directions at once, with hybrids growing fast while gas, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles all continue to evolve. “There has rarely been a more interesting time to shop for a new vehicle,” said Terri Toennies, President of the Los Angeles Auto Show. “Consumers are weighing powertrain, technology, capability and price more than ever before. The LA Auto Show offers what online research and single dealerships can’t: the chance to compare brands side-by-side and find the right fit.”

The participating brands are Acura, Alfa Romeo, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Lucid, Nissan, Porsche DTLA, Ram, Ri below come from the show’s announcement, and the organizers note that brands and vehicles are subject to change

Hybrids are one of the biggest stories

Hybrids are one of the biggest stories of the show, and these four deserve a close look:

  • Kia Telluride Hybrid: Kia’s first-ever turbocharged hybrid Telluride makes 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, with up to an EPA-estimated 35 mpg combined and a 637-mile driving range.
  • 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid: Nissan brings its e-POWER hybrid system to the U.S. for the first time, estimated at up to 41 mpg city, 36 highway and 38 combined.
  • Hyundai Tucson Hybrid: The next-generation Tucson pairs new “Art of Steel” styling with a hybrid rated at up to 42 mpg and the new Pleos infotainment system.
  • Subaru Forester Wilderness Hybrid: The first Wilderness Hybrid has 194 horsepower, standard all-wheel drive, 9.3 inches of ground clearance and up to 38% better fuel economy.

The Telluride Hybrid may be the one families compare most. Torque News has covered how Kia’s Telluride Hybrid challenges the Toyota Highlander, and at the show you can see both side by side.

Truck shoppers have three very different choices on display:

  • 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: The next-generation Silverado gets new 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines, an enhanced TurboMax with what Chevrolet calls best-in-class standard torque, a 16.3-inch center screen, a 12.2-inch driver display and Super Cruise.
  • 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee: The legendary nameplate returns with a choice of the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, the 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8 or a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 with 777 horsepower. The top Rumble Bee SRT runs 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.
  • GMC Sierra EV: GMC’s all-electric pickup will also be on display.

The Silverado’s new V8s are worth studying before you buy, because the bigger engine is not always the right choice. As we reported, GM’s bigger V8 makes 481 horsepower, but Silverado buyers who tow heavy get the smaller one instead.

Families will find more three-row choices than ever, across every powertrain:

  • 2028 Toyota Highlander: The all-new Highlander seats seven and offers an all-electric powertrain with up to 315 miles of range, front- or all-wheel drive, bidirectional backup power and a standard 14-inch touchscreen.
  • Tesla Model Y L: An extended-wheelbase Model Y with three rows and seating for six, dual-motor all-wheel drive and 332 miles of EPA-estimated range.
  • Genesis GV90: Genesis’ first full-size electric flagship SUV, with an available three-row interior.
  • Cadillac Vistiq: Cadillac’s all-electric three-row SUV.
  • Buick Enclave: Buick’s premium three-row SUV.
  • Lucid Gravity GT-S: A high-performance three-row electric SUV with 1,070 horsepower, rear-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension.
  • 2027 Chrysler Pacifica: The redesigned minivan adds illuminated front-end styling, enhanced driver-assistance technology and available all-wheel drive, and keeps Stow ‘n Go seating for up to eight.

I recently spent time with the 2027 Pacifica

I recently spent time with the 2027 Pacifica with my own family, and my review explains how its 3.6-liter V6 feels after 19 years in a Honda Odyssey, and how its 20.3 mpg stacks up.

The Electric SUVs and Performance Cars

For buyers who want electric power or serious performance:

  • Rivian R2: Up to 656 horsepower, 0 to 60 mph in as quick as 3.6 seconds, an EPA-estimated 330 miles of range, dual-motor all-wheel drive and Rivian Autonomy+ hands-free driving.
  • Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric: Porsche’s most powerful production vehicle ever, with up to 1,139 horsepower, 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds, up to 317 miles of range and 10% to 80% charging in as little as 16 minutes under optimal conditions.
  • Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC convertible: A supercharged 5.2-liter V8 with 795 horsepower, the most powerful Mustang convertible Ford has built.
  • Dodge Charger Scat Pack: A twin-turbocharged SIXPACK inline-six with 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft, with standard all-wheel drive and selectable rear-wheel drive.
  • 2027 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport: The redesigned SUV gets a 282-horsepower turbocharged engine, available 4MOTION all-wheel drive and an available 15-inch touchscreen with AI-powered voice assistance.

The R2 is already in owners’ hands, and early buyers are sharing their experiences, including one who reserved an R2 in June and took delivery 61 days later.

Some of the most interesting displays are not traditional new-car launches:

  • Honda Base Station Prototype: A lightweight camping trailer that Honda says is towable by many SUVs, making its public debut alongside a 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport. Its modular interior changes from a compact travel cabin into a living and sleeping space.
  • 2027 Fiat Topolino: A compact low-speed electric vehicle for resort communities, coastal drives and private neighborhoods, shown alongside the 2026 Fiat 500e and 500 Vintage Blue.
  • Acura NEXERA Vision: A concept designed at Acura’s Los Angeles studio that will influence future Acura styling, starting with the fourth-generation RDX Hybrid arriving in 2028.
  • Jeep Twelve 4 Twelve: The 2027 Wrangler Switchback is the 12th and final model in Jeep’s 85th-anniversary series, and all 12 vehicles will be on public display together for the first time.

Which Brands Offer Test Drives

One of the best reasons to go is the chance to drive. Participating test-drive and ride brands currently include Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Jeep, Kia, Lucid, Nissan, Ram, Ries will be announced closer to the show

  • Street drives: Outdoor drives on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
  • LADWP Test Track: An electric and hybrid track outside South Hall where you can drive competing electrified vehicles back to back.
  • Ford Bronco Built Wild: A capability-focused ride experience.
  • Camp Jeep Adventure Course: An off-road course for Jeep ride-alongs.
  • Nissan indoor ride: An indoor ride experience in South Hall.

How to Get the Most From the Show

If you are actively shopping, a little planning makes the visit far more useful:

  • Make a short list: Pick three or four vehicles in the same category to compare directly.
  • Arrive early for test drives: Drives are popular, so plan your day around them.
  • Compare powertrains back to back: Use the electric and hybrid test track to feel the differences for yourself.
  • Sit in every row: In three-row vehicles, check the second and third rows, not just the driver’s seat.
  • Ask product specialists your real questions: There is no sales pressure, so ask about range, fuel economy, towing and features.
  • Take photos and notes: Record window stickers and details so you can compare later.
