TeaThat Odyssey was once completely Greek to me. I struggled to keep up with the cast of characters, the multitude of heroes and villains, the bevy of sons and daughters. I found the Homeric formula – the stock phrase repeated over and over again from oral tradition – confusing and tiresome. In my 1946 prose
