Merrell Moab 3 Luxe Leather Boots, $72 (was $160)
Why do we like this deal?
Merrell’s Summer Sale has officially begun, with up to 40% off the brand’s outdoor-ready and tested footwear. It runs until July 21, but if you want to grab a pair of the famous Moabs on sale, it’s a good idea to act fast – these are usually the first to sell out. The Moab 3 Luxe Leather, for example, is a recent entry into the catalogue, and we’re pretty sure they’re at more than half off where they were the first time around.
The $160 Merrell Moab 3 Lux Leather Shoes were already marked down to $120, but if you use the code extra40 At checkout, it drops the price to $72. All three colorways are also on sale, and although stock is looking solid at the moment, that likely won’t be the case for long, given that the standard Moab 3 hiking shoe is the brand’s all-time bestseller.

What shoppers need to know
- Upper: Full-grain leather and mesh
- Midsole: EVA foam with Merrell air cushion heel, molded nylon arch shank, leather-covered removable PU footbed with pigskin lining
- Outsole: Vibram EcoStep Recycle (30% recycled rubber)
- Construction: Lace-up, half-pair, total weight of both shoes is 940 grams
- Best for: Hiking, All Terrain Trail Use, Daily Wear
The standard Moab 3s use a pigskin suede and mesh upper, which has certainly proven useful for millions of joints, but it generally wears out faster than full-grain leather. Lux Leathers has fixed this by adding full-grain leather to the upper, making them more abrasion-resistant, less likely to deform, and, arguably, looking a little nicer. The pigskin lining and leather footbed are also new features that add comfort and a more “luxe” feel, and the Vibram EcoStep Recycled outsole (specially designed for wet and dry traction) is a step up from the standard version.
Compared to the OG Moab 3S, which costs $140, the Luxe Leather offers an extra $20 over the full price for full-grain leather, an upgraded interior, and a better outsole. That’s a pretty reasonable premium for an upgrade that makes the shoes more durable, and at $72, they’re going for a lot less than the standard Moab 3s retail price (although some colorways are on sale).

what shoppers are saying
One shopper commented, “They’re extremely durable and very comfortable,” and another wrote, “I can wear these every day and still look good no matter what I’m doing.”
The added leather is just for show, as it also makes the shoes longer-lasting: “The leather exterior and pigskin lining support longevity.” Additionally, older people appreciate the support: “As I get older, their stability helps my balance around the farm.”
The Merrell Moab 3 Luxe Leather Shoes can be yours for $72, and even though there’s still plenty of time left in the sale, the sizes will be gone soon.
