Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has firmly rejected the possibility of a transfer to Turkey this summer, despite him being linked with a move to Fenerbahce. The 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona, is now set to make a potential return to Old Trafford under Michael Carrick.
During his loan stint at Barcelona, Rashford played a key role in securing the La Liga title, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in 32 league matches. One of his standout moments was a decisive free-kick in a 2–0 win over Real Madrid. However, Barcelona chose not to exercise the £26 million release clause included in his loan agreement, leaving Rashford’s future once again in the hands of Manchester United.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Rashford has flatly rejected advances from Turkish clubs, making it clear that a move to Fenerbahce is not on his agenda for the upcoming window. Meanwhile, Michael Carrick is reportedly keen to rejoin Rashford in the Manchester United squad, signaling a potential lifeline to the winger’s career at the club. Nevertheless, the club remains open to entertaining them if adequate offers arise.
Rashford is expected to rejoin Manchester United for pre-season preparations following England’s World Cup third-place play-off against France on Saturday, July 18. The forward’s immediate future may depend on his performance in that match and the direction Carrick wants to take with the team during the break.
With Rashford’s decision to refuse a move to Turkey and Barcelona’s refusal to secure his services permanently, all attention is now focused on Old Trafford, where the England international’s next moves could have a significant impact on United’s attacking options in the upcoming campaign.
