Marco Bezzecchi has suffered a serious blow at the Sachsenring after a high-speed crash in Q2 left the Aprilia rider with a displaced fracture of his left collarbone. The dramatic incident occurred at Turn 7 during the crucial qualifying session for the German Grand Prix, bringing Bezzecchi’s campaign for top grid position to an abrupt halt.
Immediately after the accident, Bezzecchi was taken to the circuit’s medical center for evaluation. Under the supervision of MotoGP Medical Director Dr. Angel Charte, the Italian was subjected to radiographic examinations. The results were clear and worrying: a complete and displaced fracture of the left clavicle. This type of injury is classified as serious and requires surgical intervention to ensure optimal recovery and return to competitive form.
In response to the diagnosis, Bezzecchi is preparing for immediate repatriation to Italy, where he will undergo surgery to be performed by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini. The priority for the Aprilia rider is a fast and successful operation to accelerate his rehabilitation and return to the MotoGP grid.
