Due to the strong winds, the storm affected more than just the airlines. The storm, described as equivalent to a Category 4 hurricane, caused widespread damage and flooding across the region.

“Super Typhoon Bavi brought damaging winds and torrential rain to the Northern Mariana Islands on Monday,” Accuweather wrote on X. “The storm is equivalent to a Category 4 hurricane.”

A flood watch It will continue to impact Guam and the three Northern Mariana Islands through late Tuesday night, with rainfall totals already reaching 15 inches in some areas and more rain expected.
