Here's what the biggest book clubs are reading in July 2026

With July coming hot, literally (go away, heat waves!) and figuratively, a bunch of great book clubs have announced what they’ll be reading and discussing this month. The focus of these book clubs is unique, which means they offer a wide variety of selections. Plus, all of these book clubs are virtual in some way, and most end with a discussion or author talk.

If you want to join one of these bookish communities, or read your favorites alone, July’s book club selections range from sci-fi horror to Pulitzer Prize-winning narrative nonfiction. There’s also a novel that questions our ideas about family, a near-future setting that feels like the present, a novel set in an Albanian village, a mystery novel about a deadly love triangle, a close-knit group in a small seaside town with an outsider who is tipping the balance of things, and much more! Have fun choosing your next lesson!
