after wearing FXR Adventure Lite Tri-Laminate Bib Pant This spring, I stayed dry even in heavy rain while fishing and touring on my ebike. It has waterproof zippers on well-thought-out pockets and a built-in line cutter. It is intentionally designed for fishing in wet conditions, but as you continue reading this FXR Adventure Lite Tri-Laminate Bib Pant review, you will discover why it is not the best choice for every fisherman.

Testing methods and conditions
I’ve tested the FXR Adventure Light Tri-Laminate Bib Pant on rainy and potentially rainy days throughout the spring in Oklahoma. I’ve packed it in tight spaces and worn it over my clothes before it started raining. They are designed for fishing and riding, so that’s exactly what I did during and immediately after the rain stopped.
Try it and first impressions
When I first took the FXR Adventure Lite Tri-Laminate Bib Pant out of the box, I immediately noticed how long it was. I’m quite short at 5’6”, so I was worried that the bib legs would drag on the ground when I walked, and that’s exactly what happened. In addition to leg length, the bib was easy to adjust around the shoulders and waist, so it fit well.

performance in the field
As long as I wore this bib (and my FXR rain jacket), my body and feet stayed dry in the rain. The first time I took it fishing, there was a high chance of rain at the end of the day, so I packed it in my kayak crate. I ended up not needing it, but thankfully it doesn’t take up much space or weigh much, so I wasn’t worried about it. Another time I left my house it was raining heavily, so I simply pulled bib pants over my shoes as I left and went fishing. The temperatures were cool, but I stayed warm and dry while fishing in my pond. When the rain slowed down, I wanted to see how well they would keep me dry while driving through water and mud. Once again, the bib pants kept me safe, didn’t leak, and kept my stuff (phone, keys, wallet) dry. My biggest complaint about the display is that when wearing the jacket, the chest pocket (the only pocket) is difficult to access. However, the line cutter is easy to access and works well.

Durability, materials and build quality
FXR intentionally uses high quality, durable, lightweight materials to manufacture this bib pant. I don’t have any problems with frayed or loose seams. The face of the material has held up well, even though I’ve stuffed it on a friend’s boat, in her storage compartment, in my kayak crate, in my truck, and worn and washed it multiple times.

Fit, mobility and layering
These bib pants are easy to slip on and off over my shoes thanks to the waterproof lower leg zippers. It fits in a few layers and is easy to adjust for different temperatures. I never felt restricted in these bibs while fishing, walking, or riding.

Who is it for / Who should leave it
The FXR Adventure Light Tri-Laminate Bib Pant is for the serious fisherman who wants to keep dry while fishing. It is also ideal for the traveling fisherman as it is very packable (stuffs inside pocket). I would not recommend it to fishermen who do not fish in the rain or do not get wet while fishing, as it is expensive and you will not get any benefit from it.
Price and value-to-performance
Bibs are generally expensive, and at $260, the FXR Adventure Lite Tri-Laminate Bib Pant is no different. However, I think it does everything it promises (keeps you completely dry) and has a few features that others don’t offer (a built-in line cutter). I wouldn’t recommend wearing it in the winter without proper layering, but it’s a great option for most of the year, especially in the southern states. So, you can get the most out of your money with this.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Keeps me dry in rain and spray
- It has a built-in line cutter for quick cuts when fishing
- Does not limit my mobility
- Adjustable so I can change layers throughout the year
- very packable
Shortcoming
- little leggy

Verdict: FXR Adventure Lite Tri-Laminate Bib Pant Review
I love how packable the FXR Adventure Light Tri-Laminate Bib Pant is, but it’s still able to keep me dry even in very wet conditions. It keeps me cool on hot days and warm on cold days, and I plan on keeping it packed in my kayak crate for many years of fishing. However, it is expensive, and most fishermen will not need it.

At $260 it’s a commitment, but anglers who regularly fish in the rain will find it worth every dollar.
