FALCO and GBGuns Launch New A914 IWB Holster

I don’t think concealed carry stops when the orange vest goes on, or you park your butt in a fishing boat. With it, comfort for long days in the field matters just as much as it does on the range or on the water. Graham Bates of Falco Holsters and GBguns is targeting this same area with the new A914 IWB holster, a hybrid design constructed from US Kydex and Italian leather. Batts brings a background that includes a decade of daily experience in military deployments and the design process, which those of you who carry while hiking, hunting or working outside will likely appreciate more than a holster designed with concealment under a suit jacket in mind.

A914 Brings together the secure retention and fast draw of US Kydex with the comfort enhancement of premium Italian leather. Designed primarily for hip IWB carry, the holster performs best in the 3 to 5 o’clock position and offers a practical solution for gun owners who want protection, concealment, and all-day comfort in one holster.

A key feature of the A914 is the “Griffin Wing”, a leather extension on the leading edge of the holster. With use, the feather naturally forms into the body and gives flexibility as the wearer moves. It also helps distribute the weight of the firearm over a wider portion of the belt, reducing the bulky feeling often associated with carrying large handguns inside the waistband.

Draw force can be adjusted with a retention screw located near the trigger guard. A full sweat guard helps protect the handgun from body moisture, while also protecting the wearer from direct contact with the firearm. The holster comes with an FBI cant and has an open-bottom design, which helps keep the holster clear of dust while allowing use with threaded barrels.

The A914 attaches to the belt using two polymer belt clips. One clip is attached to the kydex shell, while the other is attached to the leather wing. The clips are available for 1.5″, 1.75″, and 2″ belt widths. Their self-adjusting design allows them to naturally position themselves correctly after wearing the holster on the belt.

The tuckable clip construction allows the wearer to tuck a shirt over the holster, making the A914 suitable for both casual and formal concealed carry. The holster is available for pistols and revolvers, including models equipped with red dot sights.

The A914’s leather “griffin wing” is meant to conform to flexibility and speed, something that matters more on uneven terrain than standing on a counter, while the open-bottom design and FBI holster can’t keep the holster from being functional even with a threaded barrel. Falco and Bates say the holster underwent months of testing in both humid and dry conditions, which suggests it was not isolated from actual outdoor use, although only field time will confirm how it performs throughout the hunting season. The A914 GBGuns IWB Holster has an MSRP of $159.95 and is compatible with a wide range of pistols, revolvers, and red-dot equipped handguns.
