I got this bike in late fall for testing, but it was covered in snow all winter, so it took me until spring to get some good miles on the Mars 3.0. I’ve been riding the Mars primarily on forest trails and walking paths.

Review – Hebike Mars 3.0
When Mars 3.0 arrived, I was eager to put this full-suspension folder through its paces in real-world Maine conditions. Some assembly is par for the course with this type of e-bike and the Mars 3.0 was no different, but it wasn’t complicated, but you do need to put in a little time to get things dialed in. What you end up getting is a bike with an aggressive fat-tire stance and a solid feel. The folding mechanism is worth a look. You can plop it down in just 10 seconds and it’s a real space saver. If you’re short on garage space or don’t have a rack, keeping it hidden or thrown in the back of the truck is a big plus.
The battery can be easily removed from the bike housing and charged on the bike or inside your home on cold days. Once the battery is inserted, you’ll need to use a key to lock it to the frame and then use the included NFC key to unlock the bike when the power is on. Although this may seem like a hassle for someone like me who lives in a rural area, it’s probably a good thing for anyone who lives in a more populated area and doesn’t want their bike battery stolen.
On the Trail and Around Town – Hebike Mars 3.0

The full suspension does a good job of absorbing roots and rough ground, and with those fat tires you have a ride that feels composed and gives you confidence on uneven surfaces. The 750W motor produces some strong acceleration and 95 Nm of torque for hill climbing that is just plain fun. Whether you’re on the throttle or using pedal assist, the power is smooth and responsive. Range is another story. I was still seeing good numbers when combining higher assist levels. On a calmer day I could easily cover 40-plus miles and still have juice left. The LED headlights are bright enough for low light and the turn signals are a nice touch for visibility in traffic. I will say that if you want to use this bike without the pedal drive activated, you will get a great workout, as it is very tough. Even when the bike is off, it will take a lot of force to move the chain attached to the motor, so be prepared for this.

However, all this is not true. At 72 pounds, the thing is heavy. You’ll notice this when the bike is folded and you have to carry it up some stairs or load it. On some long trips I had to re-tighten steering bars that had become loose and actually worn out. Finally, the latch on the battery housing sticks out where my foot reaches when pedaling, which was a bit of a hassle.

Told everything, Hebike Mars 3.0 It’s an enjoyable bike that offers a lot of capability for the price you pay. Sure, there are odd quirks with the weight or the battery latch, but it excels at the important things like making you smile when you’re sitting on it. The thick tires and solid range give it a premium feel. If you need a machine for a hassle-free commute or trails in a busy city, it’s hard to beat. The folding aspect is a game-changer for portability. I had a good time with the Mars 3.0 and wouldn’t mind recommending it to a friend who’s looking for an affordable fat-tire e-bike that can handle an adventure.
