Black Friday (aka the biggest retail event of the year) is just around the corner. It’s the perfect time to upgrade your tech and start Christmas gift shopping while grabbing some decent discounts. If you’ve been waiting for the PS5 to drop in price, the November sale could serve up some savings.
Last year, Sony discounted the console for Black Friday and there were plenty of offers on PS5 games and accessories, too. I’m expecting to see similar deals this year, particularly on the DualSense controller and some of the console’s biggest games.
Black Friday falls on 27 November this year but the sales tend to start well before the official date. In fact, you can usually find discounts popping up throughout November, so it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled.
I’ll be keeping tabs on Amazon, Argos, Currys and PlayStation Direct to find the best PS5 Black Friday deals this year. Keep scrolling to find out more about my predictions for what we can expect from this year’s sale.
When will PS5 Black Friday deals start in 2026?
While PlayStation hasn’t said when it’ll begin its Black Friday sale this year, it’s pretty easy to predict. For the past three years, PlayStation has kicked off its official Black Friday sale a week before the eponymous day itself, which takes place on 27 November this year.
That means we could start seeing consoles, games and accessories discounted in price from Friday 20 November on PlayStation Direct.
Third-party retailers could launch their deals even earlier, however. In 2024, Argos, Currys and EE were already discounting the PS5 Pro a fortnight before Black Friday began. Plus, both Currys and Very kicked off site-wide Black Friday sales at the start of November last year.
What are the best PS5 Black Friday deals to expect in 2026?
Last year’s Black Friday sale was the biggest and best when it came to the PS5, with record-low prices on almost every console in the gaming giant’s arsenal. Will the deals be just as good this year? I’d temper your expectations.
In April 2026, Sony hiked the price of all three PS5 consoles by a whopping £90, blaming global RAM shortages and higher manufacturing costs, due to global tariffs. The PS5 slim with the disc drive was increased to £569.99, the PS5 Slim digital edition saw an increase to £519.99, while the PS5 Pro jumped from £699.99 to an eye-watering £789.99. It’s also out of stock at several retailers.
That means even with a hefty Black Friday discount, we might not see prices fall quite as low as they have done in previous years.
Still, to give you a flavour of the kind of discounts we saw in 2025, Argos slashed the PS5 Slim digital edition console to just £289.99 – a huge £140 saving. The retailer even threw in a free copy of EA Sports FC 26. The PS5 Pro also fell to just £569.99 at Amazon and Argos, saving you £130.
There were loads of savings to be found at PlayStation Direct, too. Last year, £90 was sliced off the PS VR2 headset, while you could nab a £20 saving on the PlayStation Portal and get £20 off all of its DualSense controllers. I think games and accessories might get the heftiest discounts this year, with PS5 console prices being so sky-high right now.
Best PS5 deals to shop now

While there are no deals on the PlayStation right now, if you want to save a bit of cash on the console, I’d recommend buying a refurbished model. The iOutlet is currently selling the original full-fat PlayStation 5 console from 2020 (with a disc drive) for £469.99. The main difference compared with the newer PS5 slim is that it has a bulkier design and slightly less storage, but you’re getting essentially the same gaming performance for £100 less. It’s a B-grade refurbished model, so you can expect some cosmetic wear, but it’s been fully tested and comes with a 12-month warranty.
If you’ve already got a PS5 and are looking for a second (or third) controller, EE has snipped £11 off the rarely ever discounted DualSense gamepad. One of the best accessories you can own, it features incredible haptic feedback that brings games to life, and if you like to play couch co-op with your buddies, you’ll need more than one.

Available in rhythm blue, remix green or techno red, this DualSense controller gives you a colourful alternative to the classic white version. It has all the same features, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone, so you can pick the colour you like without compromising on functionality.
