The #2 book on our hardcover nonfiction list, I’ll Believe in Anything, is the first official tie-in to the Heated Rivalry TV series. Show creator, writer, and director Jacob Tierney collects annotated scripts and shares behind-the-scenes content; Rachel Reid, who wrote the books on which the series is based, contributes the foreword. The show premiered in November 2025, and that year, Reid’s six Game Changers novels sold about 91K print units. For 2026 to date, they’ve sold more than 1 million.

Bonnie Garmus made a splash in 2022 with her midcentury STEMinist debut novel, Lessons in Chemistry, which has sold 1.9 million print copies and spawned a well-received Apple TV limited series. Her follow-up, Peck & Peck, is set in the 1980s and lands
at #5 on our hardcover fiction list. “A young man seeks fulfillment while working for a prestigious and cutthroat poetry journal in this tender-hearted sophomore novel,” per our review. “The author also packs the novel with the antic humor and colorful characterizations that drew readers to her debut.”

A pair of novels from indie presses return to our trade paperback list. Fruit Fly by Josh Silver enjoyed its best weekly sales to date, reentering our list at #13. Shortly before its August release, A24 nabbed adaptation rights with plans for a TV series, and steady buzz has spurred the book to sell 40K print copies to date for Crooked Lane. PW’s starred review said, “A struggling author co-opts the life of a young gay drug addict for her new manuscript in YA novelist Silver’s jaw-dropping adult debut.” One notch below, Eli McCann’s debut novel, Stitched, has been a hit for Torrey House: it was the #9 book in the country in its first week on sale in September and to date has sold almost 38K print copies. McCann, an attorney and podcaster who regularly writes for the Salt Lake City Tribune, set his story in Utah, where a women’s quilting group welcomes two gay men into their circle in the run-up to a national quilting championship. This week’s sales are up 177% compared with the week before.

The week’s bestsellers include a trio of new cookbooks: The Lost Kitchen, Vol. 3 by chef, restaurateur, and memoirist Erin French; Homemade by model and social media personality Nara Aziza Smith; and Love & Lemons: Pop of Flavor, the fourth cookbook by recipe developer Jeanine Donofrio, who launched her Love & Lemonsblog in 2011.
