WAULT, a platform for brand access and activation across India’s sports and active-lifestyle sector, has been launched by Amit Relan and Smita Jadhav. The platform connects brands with a network of more than 2,000 sports and fitness facilities across the country.

The launch comes as India’s fitness market is projected to grow from Rs 16,200 crore in 2024 to Rs 37,700 crore by 2030, according to a report by Deloitte and the Health & Fitness Association. Participation in racquet sports has also increased by more than 150% over the preceding two years, according to the company’s cited data.

The platform aims to address the fragmented nature of the sector, where brands often have to coordinate separately with venue operators across locations and facility types. It brings venues into a single network for campaigns focused on brand awareness, product trials, community building, lead generation, consumer engagement and sponsorships.

Commenting on the launch of the platform, Amit

Commenting on the launch of the platform, Amit Relan, co-founder, WAULT and WOOT Factor, said, “One of the most interesting aspects of India’s fitness economy is the gap between its potential and its current level of participation. While the country had approximately 12.3 million fitness-facility members in 2024, membership penetration stood at just 0.8%. The membership, however, is projected to reach 23.2 million by 2030. For the industry, this signals an opportunity not just to grow, but to broaden the role fitness plays in people’s everyday lives.”

He added, “As participation expands across gyms, boutique studios and emerging sports formats, the commercial opportunity will increasingly depend on how effectively the wider ecosystem connects brands, venues and consumers. We believe this is where a more organised approach to the sector can create value for all three.”

The platform’s network includes football, cricket, tennis, gyms, Pilates, yoga, padel and pickleball facilities. It operates across metropolitan areas such as Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, as well as Tier II and Tier III cities, including Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Goa and Pune.

The platform draws on the founders’ experience in experiential marketing and brand activation. Relan and Jadhav also co-founded WOOT Factor, a brand experience and experiential marketing company.
