N.H. — Chris Pappas is reaching voters everywhere this campaign through interviews with podcasts, content creators, and other members of the new media, connecting with broader audiences across the Granite State
Pappas is showing voters how he is running for Senate to lower costs for New Hampshire families and small businesses and create a freer, fairer future for Granite Staters. On the other hand, Trump-endorsed candidate John Sununu said he is running for Senate because this race is “important to President Trump’s agenda,” and he supports and has downplayed the worst parts of that agenda — including Trump’s war with Iran, Trump’s tariff taxes, and Trump’s cuts to health care.
Chris Pappas onPod Save America, talking about John Sununu’s failures:
- Pappas: “The good news is, the more this guy’s on TV, the more they’ve recognized that he’s not his younger, more affable, gregarious brother…the guy just doesn’t relate well to voters. He’s running a very 1996 campaign, which was the first year he ran for Congress. He’s been in office or working in Washington for 30 years, and I think he just doesn’t get what this moment is about.
- Pappas: “This is a moment where people are so hungry for change, including generational change. They want new voices at the table, and the last thing we need is to put someone back in office who was there before, who didn’t get the job done for New Hampshire. I mean, he was drummed out of office in 2008 because he was down the line for George W. Bush and the unpopular policies of the moment, and now he’s sidling up with Donald Trump in this election, where people want to fundamentally change the way Washington works and want people who are going to stand up to this president and the policies that are making life more expensive.”
Chris Pappas onThe Borowitz Report, talking about why he’s running:
- Pappas: “I want to make life better for Granite Staters. I want to build a fairer economy that creates more opportunity and brings down costs. I want to take on this lawless president and restore checks and balances. And I want to fundamentally change the way that Washington works so that we are going after corruption, that we’re getting big money out of politics.”
Chris Pappas onCourier News’s “Gloves Off,”talking about fighting for change:
- Pappas: “People are opposed to the policies of this administration. They want to turn the page, but they don’t just want to go back to a time before Trump was in office. That wasn’t good enough for New Hampshire either, so they really want to see people who are going to shake things up in Washington. And perhaps the least qualified person to bring change to Washington is a former U.S. Senator and a member of a New Hampshire political dynasty, who not only served in Washington, but when he left office was part of the sort of revolving door that everyone hates about the system in Washington.”
Chris Pappas with online creatorEthan Kelly, talking about John Sununu’s dangerous record:
- Pappas: “[John Sununu is] a candidate out of the past. I think this is a moment where people want to look ahead to the future, and want to decide what comes next. Turn the page not just on Trump, but a system that hasn’t worked for a long period of time and a candidate like John Sununu who was part of the reason why we’re in the situation we’re in right now. When he was last in office he voted for forever wars, privatizing Social Security, putting anti-choice judges on the bench who overturned Roe v. Wade. So he was wrong then, he’s wrong now.”
