'The Agency' cliffhanger may be resolved with a hidden reason

After 10 cringe-worthy episodes, Agency Season 2 has wrapped up all of its stories, clearly, in a neat bow. or did? The final moments of The Agency season 2’s penultimate episode, “King Sacrifice,” reveal that there is a deeper mystery beyond this arc, and perhaps, the most compromised and stubborn CIA agent of them all may be back for another round of stories.

This way Agency Season 2 ended and what it could mean for a hypothetical season 3. Also, a really weird hack to figure out how the cliffhanger is resolved, even if Season 3 never happens. Spoilers ahead.

Agency Season 2 ending explained

Agency Season 2 essentially had around four major storylines: the internal search for information leaks at the CIA, the Martian’s quest to free Sami, which involves selling information to SIS, the plight of gremlins in Iran, and a mission to take down a militia leader known as the Viking. And all of these stories were basically resolved in the final two episodes. This way:

  • In episode 9, the Martian kills MI6 head Jim Richardson, ending the blackmail scheme and data leak of which the Martian was a part. The Martian attacks Richardson when he learns that Richardson is leaking his leaked information to China. The Martian had no objection to Richardson’s rogue cell within MI6 getting information, but leaking it to China was a step too far. This plot point makes it 100 percent clear to the CIA that the Martian was leaking information, but it also makes it clear that Richardson was corrupt. So, this outs Martian as the mole, but it also makes it clear that he was not aware of Richardson’s deep corruption.
  • Gremlin escapes and is then rescued in Iran. After much back-and-forth in which it really seemed like she wouldn’t make it, Gremlin finally makes it out alive in episode 10.
  • Henry is brought back to active duty after being falsely accused of being a spy. This basically resolves the Internal Security storyline, and the show doubles down on Henry being basically the only truly honest person. Agency.
  • Finally, the Martian infiltrates the Valhalla base by posing as a diamond smuggler. Arriving there, he plays a game of chess with the Viking using a timer, which has a bomb hidden inside it. The Martian blows up Valhalla, saves himself, and kills himself.

However, the final scenes of episode 10 find the Martian captured casino royale Style. His captors claim to know who he is, that is, in theory, they know he is a CIA agent. Or, do they know something else that we don’t?

Agency Season 3 has not been confirmed yet. But there is a possible hack for that.

Although Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, Season 3 Agency Has not been publicly confirmed. As yet. That said, there’s a hidden way to chart what might happen after Season 2 ends, even before a hypothetical Season 3 arrives — as long as you’re willing to watch a French show with English subtitles. (Or if you speak French!)

Agency It’s an adaptation of a French detective show The BureauWhich ran for five seasons from 2015 to 2020. Although the plots are not the same in each season, Season 2 The Bureau It ended with the capture of the lead agent, codenamed Malotru. And season 3 of the show started with the story of getting him out of captivity.

So, in theory, showrunners and writers Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth already have a ton of material that can be adapted into Season 3, meaning they already know how the Martians will survive.

Will we see that happen? This is unclear. But, if you get really impatient, in theory, you could just start looking The Bureau Season 3. Just remember to turn on your English subtitles!

Agency and The Bureau both stream on Paramount+.
